Mr Simon Youds has a long history with Cauldron, having served as Manager of Operations from June 2012 until February 2016, and as Non-Executive Chair of the board of directors from 15 March 2019. On 26 May 2021, Simon moved into the position of Executive Chair in recognition of the increased workload involved in preparing for production from the River Sands Project.
Simon is a professional mining engineer having considerable experience in exploration, project development, and operational experience in Africa, Asia and Australia. Mr Youds also holds an MBA degree from Deakin University, Victoria, and is a member of the Australasian Institute on Mining and Metallurgy.
Mr Youds has considerable operational experience, building mines and establishing production in a vast range of commodities and countries. Particularly relevant to Cauldron is his experience in establishing gold mines along with a significant expansion of a major uranium mine. Simon was directly involved in building gold mines, Bibiani (Ghana), Bulyanhulu (Tanzania) and North Mara (Tanzania). He worked as a member of a multi-disciplinary team with WMC to nearly triple uranium production at Olympic Dam, the world’s largest uranium mine.
Other experience includes working as CEO of African Iron, an iron ore explorer in the Republic of Congo, where he facilitated a A$388 million deal for its purchase by Exxaro Resources.
Geologist/Explorer Directly relevant to Cauldron, is his experience in commodities of uranium and gold. In uranium, Jess worked as Chief Exploration Geologist for Heathgate Resources Pty Ltd where he was involved in mining feasibility studies of the Four Mine Uranium deposits and ‘team leader’ of a group of geoscientists involved in the discovery of the Pepegoona Uranium, Pannikan Uranium and Pannikan West Uranium deposits. In gold, Oram worked for companies including Polymetals Mining, Triako Resources, and RGC/Goldfields. Mr Oram is currently General Manager – Exploration for Paladin Energy Limited. Other experience includes serving as Non-Executive Chair of ASX public company Force Commodities Limited (ASX: 4CE) from 4 February 2019 to 7 February 2021. During this time, Jess successfully restructured and recapitalised 4CE, allowing it to re-list after a ten-month period of voluntary suspension. Mr Oram has a Bachelor of Science (BSc), Geology major from the University of Queensland and is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG). |
Mr Qiu is a highly experienced industrialist with more than 26 years’ experience in the architecture, construction and real estate industries in China as well as over 18 years of experience in the management of enterprises and projects throughout the country. Mr Qiu has a MBA obtained from the Oxford Commercial College, a joint program operated by Oxford University in China. |

Mr Zhou is an experienced financial analyst in the materials and energy sector. In his career, Mr Zhou covers an extensive list of junior to mature mining companies and has developed a good understanding of industry financing. Mr Zhou received his Bachelor of Science in Economics degree from Wharton Business School in 2013. |
Michael Fry
B.Com.
Mr Michael Fry is a highly experienced finance executive who has acted in the capacity of chief financial officer and company secretary of ASX listed companies for over fifteen years. Michael joined Cauldron on 15 April 2019.
Mr Fry spent the first ten years working in chartered accounting with KPMG (Perth) and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (Melbourne). After leaving chartered accounting, Michael worked in corporate advisory with Troika Securities Ltd (Perth) prior to moving to Swick Mining Services Limited, an ASX listed drilling services provider contracting to the mining industry in Australia and North America.
Michael also works for Globe Metals & Mining Limited (ASX: GBE) and VDM Group Limited (ASX: VMG).
Miss Asha Rao was appointed as Exploration Manager for Cauldron Energy Limited on 28 September 2021, initially serving as Cauldron’s Senior Exploration Geologist between 2013 and 2018.
Miss Rao has over 16 years’ experience in the minerals industry, having worked in uranium and gold mineral systems in a wide variety of geological terranes, countries and resource companies. Her geological experience is broad-based, ranging from early-stage, ‘grass-roots’ exploration through to ‘brownfields’, pre-production work, with proven management experience in varying exploration environments, discovering new exploration targets, challenging traditional exploration concepts and employing innovation to unravel the intricacies of mineral deposits.
After being directly involved with the early development of Cauldron’s Bennet Well Uranium Deposit (Yanrey Uranium Project), Asha worked as Geology Manager for Boss Energy Ltd at the Honeymoon Uranium ISR Mine where she led the geological team responsible for the significant increase in mineral resources (Feasibility Studies), was responsible for the increase in current exploration target range, and introduced the current successful multi-pronged exploration strategy incorporating innovative and alternative exploration techniques. Historical uranium experience includes multiple hard-rock and ISR uranium projects at various stages of development throughout Australia, Africa and Canada. In gold, Asha worked in the Central Murchison Goldfields for Westgold Resources Ltd and was involved in the various stages of development towards restart of mining at multiple high-grade gold mines, including the Great Fingal and Big Bell gold mines.
Miss Rao has a Master of Earth Science (MESci Hons) Geology degree from the University of Liverpool, (UK), and is a member of both the Australasian Institute for Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) and Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG). Due to her sufficient experience and qualifications for the styles of mineralisation in question, Miss Rao consents to act as the Competent Person for the Company’s uranium and gold interests.
